I'm from Venezuela, that's a southamerican country. But from early 2009 to early 2011 I lived in Kuala Lumpur. I won't go into boring details of how I got there or why i came back to my country. Let me just say that I still, to this day, miss your country.
One of the few things I got while I was there is a copy of your book 'Yasmin Ahmad's Films. I never got around to read it while I was in KL, but now i'm doing so.
Don't know if this is a compliment but, in spite of having never seen an Ahmad film (even when I was in KL), by reading your book, now i want to watch all of them!.
With your second book (120 Malay Movies), which I don't own, but some days I browsed in a Kinokuniya Book Store near my house, I got the inspiration to do the same with the movies from my country, that are fading as time goes by.
Ah, one of my favourites!
ReplyDeleteRiveting work.
