Typos in international books (1)

I think typos are quite charming. This may have something to do with the fact that all Matahari Books titles have them, damnit!

These are two extracts from a book, Tom Rob Smith's Soviet thriller The Secret Speech, published by the very reputable Simon & Schuster UK:

These two sections have the same error. What is it?

Even Malcolm Gladwell's book, Outliers, which I'm currently reading, has typos!

Coincidence: I am reading BLINK! Bought it 2 years ago after a friend said it changed his life, but then I abandoned it, as I do so many other books that had proven to be life-changing to others. Picked it up again today and couldn't put it down!

Same here! I couldn't get past the first few pages of BLINK! I never finished his other book, The Tipping Point, either. But after Outliers, I'm ready to give both books a second chance. After I read something else, tho.
