Trivia:
1. The top three movies are also the top three local movies of all time (without making allowances for inflation, of course).
2. The film at #5 is the biggest hit movie to ever be made from a novel.
3. There are three hit movies in the Chinese language (#7, #10 and #20); this is the first time there has been even one.
5. The most successful studio would appear to be Metrowealth, which has 5 out of the Top 10 (#1, #3, #6, #8 and #9).
6. I saw only seven! Must try harder this year :-)

Interesting. Any insight on which made the most money based on the total cost of making the film. I figure movies like Magika must have had a huge production budget, while Ngangkung probably didn't cost as much to make.
Amir, your trivia list should also give honorable mention to 2 Alam, at least for the most hyped publicity
Spiderbear: Yes "Magika" was probably the most expensive. Most of the other films would have cost in the region of RM1 - RM1.5 million, so the profit margins can be surmised accordingly.
Dotsnodds: Well, yes, that was indeed a fascinating study of how publicity can actually backfire. Tapi mana tau, filem kedua dia nanti meletopz!
NGANGKUNG, HANTU KAK LIMAH BALIK RUMAH, ADNAN SEMPIT dan MAGIKA
I've seen only 4 another one on DVD. I think 2 Alam was notoriously promoted so that everyone who didn't even care to know would know. Although it eventually made Dr RJ look like a fool. But I respect him for making a fuss of something that wasn't even good.
Amir, is it true that u r the chosen one to direct Dr. R next movie.....?
sure box office maaa
